Accreditation
In 2003 the Council on Accreditation accredited the Purpose
Society. Staff of the Society spent approximately 18 months examining the
policies, procedures and practice of the services and programs being offered.
The backdrop for the review was the Professional Practice Standards set by the
Council on Accreditation. Each service area was reviewed in order to determine
that our practice adhered to the highest of standards. If necessary, policies
were rewritten and practice modified to ensure quality service was the outcome.
Accreditation benefits the staff of the Purpose Society, the
Board of Directors, the clients of the Society and its funders. The Purpose
staff are committed to the work they do. Accreditation ensures them that they
are working for an organization that is recognized as achieving the highest
standards of professionalism.
The clients of the Society can be assured that the staff
have rigorously examined their practice to ensure that clients are well served.
Accreditation allows the members of the Board of Directors to have confidence in
both the organization and the performance of the staff in that the process of
accreditation focuses on helping an organization grow stronger in terms of its
governance, its management and its services.
Accreditation also ensures donors that they are contributing
to an organization that is adhering to the highest professional standards.
Donors can be confident about the organization's credibility, integrity and
achievement. Accreditation confirms that the organization has organizational and
management oversight policies and practices that ensure that contributions will
be used for the intended purposes and the organization will remain true to its
mission and its values.
Accreditation
is an objective and reliable verification that the organization qualifies for
everyone's confidence and support. We are pleased to announce that we are
accredited until
May 31, 2011.
